VITEBSK, June 23 – RIA "Dagestan". Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore has opened "My Dagestan" exhibition presented by the A. Takho-Godi National Museum of Dagestan. It features over 300 genuine household objects, ethnographic artifacts and artworks that reflect the region's diverse ethnic heritage. The outstanding examples of carpet making, embroidery, wood carving, metalwork, along with jewelry and traditional costumes from Dagestan's various peoples are on display. The exhibition particularly highlights the traditional crafts kept alive in the villages of Untsukul and Balkhar, historic hubs of wood processing and pottery.

Besides, the visitors can see a photo exhibition by Pazil Alilov titled "The Beautiful Image of the Mountain Woman" where national costume unmistakably reveals a female origin. As part of the opening events, guests participated in a master class on ornamenting cashmere shawls with silk embroidery and braided fringe, led by museum researcher Patimat Yusupova. Aida Kurbanova, Head of the Registration Sector at the National Museum, addressed the audience on the rich heritage and traditions of Dagestan's ethnic groups.

The exhibition will continue in Vitebsk for the coming weeks.
