MAKHACHKALA, August 20 – RIA Dagestan. Branch Library No. 3 of the city's Centralized Library System is preparing to reopen following a major renovation. The modernization was carried out as part of the national "Culture" project. Founded in 1963, Library No. 3 is one of the city's oldest and has served as a hub of knowledge and culture for Makhachkala residents for decades.
A newly renovated facility in Makhachkala is set to open to the public in early September, with the delivery of new books, furniture, and equipment currently underway.
To ensure a smooth launch, Farid Abalaev from the city's culture department and Zulpat Ushanova from the centralized library system conducted a final tour to review organizational preparations.
This location will expand the city’s network of model libraries to seven, providing fully accessible, innovative environments equipped for movie screenings, workshops and high-speed digital research.
Each of these modernized facilities features interactive technology and a diverse, expanded collection that includes contemporary bestsellers, foreign classics and literature in native languages.
