MAKHACHKALA, February 12 – RIA “Dagestan”. During a working visit, Sergei Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan, congratulated the members and instructors of the Vatan Children's Choreographic Ensemble on resuming activities in their newly renovated building. The capital repairs were funded by the republican budget and included restoration of the façade and roof, modernization of the costume shop and rehearsal hall as well as the installation of new flooring, soundproofing and an upgraded heating system.
Melikov highlighted the four-decade contribution of Artistic Director Ali Magomedaliev, who has mentored more than a thousand young performers. The regional governor emphasized that the studio cultivated not only technical skill but also personal discipline, perseverance and a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Through dedicated training, students learn to transform hard work into expressive artistry and to share genuine joy with their audiences.
Melikov also expressed special appreciation for the ensemble's musicians, who perform without sheet music or a conductor. Melikov observed that their individual improvisations merge into a unified melody, emphasizing the complexity of providing live accompaniment for children's performances. He drew a parallel between the creative cohesion of the ensemble and the unity of Dagestan's diverse peoples, stating that individuals realize their potential within a collective that reflects the republic's social harmony. In his view, the success of Vatan represents a shared achievement of its teachers, musicians and trainees.
