In the first ten months of 2025, Dagestan agricultural sector demonstrated strong growth, with a production index of 102.1% and a gross output of RUB 196.8 billion. Projections for the full year anticipate further growth to 102.9%, pushing total output to RUB 265 billion.
A cornerstone of the regional economy, agriculture contributes 20% to Dagestan's Gross Regional Product. The republic is a recognized national leader in the production of vegetables, grapes, rice, fruits, lamb and wool. This success is supported by sustained investment and strategic development:
• Financial Support: RUB 2.8 billion of federal funding has been allocated for the agro-industrial complex in 2025.
• Storage Infrastructure: To address key challenges, modern storage capacity for fruits and vegetables has more than tripled since 2020, rising from 17,000 to 56,400 tons. A further expansion to 100,000 tons is planned by 2030.
• Processing Capacity: The modernization of enterprises processing meat, milk and rice has successfully increased their shift production capacity.
