The compilers of the RIA Novosti rating state that 74.2% of local roads meet the normative requirements. The researchers cited data for the end of 2023. The top three купшщты in terms of good roads are: Moscow (97.6%), Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (88.4%) and Kuban (84.4%).
The phased development of the busiest sections of the R-217 Kavkaz federal road, which forms part of the North-South international transport corridor, is currently underway. The three most significant construction and reconstruction projects in the region include the bypasses around Derbent, Makhachkala and Khasavyurt.
Beisedes, the regional authorities continue the implementation of the Safe Quality Roads national project in 2024. Over the course of the year, 53 kilometers of roads in the republic are expected to be brought up to safety standards.
