On November 11-12, 2025, Dagestan hosts the North Caucasus Elders Forum "Strength of the Ancestors" a significant event timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Fatherland Defender. The forum aims to highlight the importance of intergenerational continuity and honor the legacy of past heroes.
Organized by the Ministry for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, the forum brings together government representatives, respected elders, scholars, public and religious figures and leaders of non-profit organizations from the Northern Caucasus and Southern Federal District regions.
The primary goals of the forum are to:
• Enhance the role of elders in modern society
• Preserve historical memory and cultural heritage
• Strengthen traditional Russian spiritual and moral values
• Counter religious intolerance and anti-Semitism
The program features discussion platforms in both Makhachkala and Derbent, focusing on the role of Councils of Elders in maintaining spiritual values and fostering interethnic and interfaith harmony. Special attention will be given to the patriotic education of youth, providing a platform for sharing experiences and developing solutions to contemporary challenges.
