MAKHACHKALA, May 20 – RIA Dagestan. From May 24 to 27, Dagestan will serve as the first stop within Russian territory on the international project "Journey Along the Great Silk Road-2026".
A United Nations delegation will visit the republic to examine its agricultural, tourism and cultural heritage, with a focus on modern livestock farming, natural landmarks and traditional practices linked to centuries of transcontinental trade. The regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry coordinates the event alongside federal partners.
The program begins with an introduction to Dagestani livestock farming at the Ullu-Suv pass in Buynaksky District, where guests will be welcomed by local cultural ensembles. Delegates will visit pastures near Chirkey for a traditional shepherd's meal, receive a presentation from the Federal Agricultural Research Center of Dagestan on scientific support for the livestock sector and tour "Peach Garden" LLC. The day will finish with a visit to the Sulak Canyon observation deck in Dubki, Kazbekovsky District.
On May 26, the delegation will travel to Tarumovsky District to visit "Kavkaz" LLC in Karabagly to observe the way the regional agriculture adapts to modern challenges, enhancing food security and implementing advanced production methods.
