MAKHACHKALA, April 1 – RIA Dagestan. On March 31, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, convened a meeting to discuss the republic's involvement in the federal "Agroprofessionalitet" project, reaffirming workforce development priorities for the agro-industrial complex as outlined by Head of the Region Sergei Melikov.
The Prime Minister highlighted notable progress at the Sh.I. Shikhsaidov Agricultural College, which established seven high-tech training workshops, completed construction of a covered facility for agricultural machinery and acquired 26 units of modern equipment. The institution was also selected for federal funding totaling RUB 31.7 million to renovate its student dormitory.
At the same time, Abdulmuslimov raised pointed questions regarding the limited engagement of other agricultural colleges across the republic in federal programs, calling for a systematic assessment of barriers to broader participation.
Shamil Ramazanov, Minister of Agriculture, emphasized the urgent need to modernize infrastructure at the Agrarian College in Dagestanskie Ogni, which serves approximately one thousand students. Officials currently evaluate the feasibility of securing an "Agroprofi" grant to fund comprehensive renovations of academic buildings, laboratories and student housing – Ramazanov said.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in coordination with college leadership, to prepare a complete application package for submission in the upcoming competitive grant selection process.
