MAKHACHKALA, October 6 – RIA "Dagestan". The XIII International Interreligious Youth Forum has convened at Kaspiy health resort, operating on October 6 - 8 as a strategic platform for countering terrorist ideology and fostering social cohesion.
The multidisciplinary event engages youth delegates, religious authorities, and policy experts from domestic and international jurisdictions. The inaugural program featured a cultural exhibition highlighting the theological and artistic heritage of the primary confessions.
In his keynote address, Acting Deputy Chairman of the Dagestan Government Abdurakhman Makhmudov underscored the critical importance of interethnic and interfaith parity in maintaining regional stability across the republic's highly diverse demographic landscape.
The forum's operational framework facilitates the exchange of preventative methodologies among Muslim, Orthodox, Jewish, and Buddhist leaders to mitigate youth radicalization. The academic and practical curriculum encompasses expert symposia, legislative proficiency competitions, training sessions and specialized panels analyzing the influence of artificial intelligence and digital environments on religious identity and the proliferation of destructive content.
Theological perspectives were formally integrated into the proceedings through a keynote address by Archbishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Derbent, emphasizing the universal doctrinal imperative of compassion, alongside an official communiqué from the Mufti of Dagestan, Akhmad Afandi Abdullaev, presented by his deputy, Rasul Gadzhiev.
