The Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov has announced the commencement of a multifaceted infrastructure development project in 2025. This ambitious undertaking encompasses the construction of bypass roads for three major cities: Khasavyurt, Makhachkala (the republic's capital) and Derbent.
Beyond road construction, the project will address broader social and engineering needs. This includes the installation of new water pipelines, modernization of sewage treatment plants and large-scale improvements to existing infrastructure. The initiative aims to significantly enhance the capacity of the crucial North–South transport and logistics corridor by optimizing traffic flow and connectivity within Dagestan.
