MAKHACHKALA, May 17 – RIA "Dagestan". The capital of Dagestan has been included in the list of 29 Russian cities participating in the federal "Clean Air" project as part of the new "Ecological Well-being" national initiative. Makhachkala has joined the second stage of the experiment on quota-setting for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
Issues related to implementing the project within the urban district were discussed at a meeting led by Saniyat Bilalova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Republic of Dagestan. The session brought together representatives of business entities whose facilities are included in the quota-regulated list, along with officials from the Makhachkala Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office.
Key topics included the development by enterprises of action plans to achieve established emission quotas, as well as challenges encountered during the preparation of these documents. The federal project "Clean Air" aims to improve the quality of life for residents in participating cities by significantly reducing emissions of hazardous pollutants into the atmosphere.
