MAKHACHKALA, June 17 – RIA "Dagestan". As part of his visit to the Republic of Dagestan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi held a meeting with the Mufti of Dagestan, Sheikh Ahmad Afandi. The event was also attended by Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of Dagestan Temirlan Abutalimov, Deputy Minister of Economy Shamil Ammaev and representatives of Pakistani delegation.
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi spoke of his enduring fascination with Dagestan's history and Rasul Gamzatov's literary legacy, calling his visit to the republic a "dream" that came true. He briefed the participants on the successful outcome of his discussions with the Acting Head of Dagestan and voiced a commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, underscoring that vital Pakistan–Russia trade routes cross Dagestani territory. Sheikh Ahmad Afandi, for his part, emphasized the special support that Russian President Vladimir Putin extends to Dagestan and its residents.
