MAKHACHKALA, June 22 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan Humanitarian Institute has launched regional professional development courses for religious leaders and instructors at religious educational organizations. The program titled "Harmonization of Ethno-Confessional Relations and Prevention of Extremism in a Destructive Context" is backed by the Islamic Culture, Science and Education Support Foundation.
Experts from the leading national scientific and educational institutions, specializing in history, law, sociology and security are among the event speakers, alongside officials from the regional Ministry for National Policy and Religious Affairs. During the proceedings, Institute Rector Saida Sirazhudinova underscored the vital contribution of religious figures in maintaining social stability. Alexey Petrov, Deputy Director of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education, also spoke, emphasizing the need for proactive online outreach to counter destructive digital content that incites interethnic and interfaith discord.
The lectures, seminars and master classes cover a range of topics: defending Russia's historical memory, monitoring religious associations, the principles of countering the ideology of terrorism and extremism online, the role of foreign centers in inciting separatism and psychological-pedagogical approaches to preventing extremism.
Certificates will be issued upon course completion.
