MAKHACHKALA, July 15 – RIA "Dagestan". Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District Yuri Chaika has met with the Acting Head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin to assess regional stability and target projects execution amid post-flood recovery.
Shchukin highlighted sustained positive dynamics: industry grew 3.6% in early 2026, with shipped goods/services at RUB 47.8 billion (up 20.9%). Tourism flourished—719,000 visitors arrived in H1, contributing RUB 7.7 billion in revenue over five months, supported by expanded legal lodging.
Infrastructure milestones include the commissioning of the 102.3 MW Derbent Solar Power Plant, Dagestan’s largest renewable facility.
Discussions prioritized near-term actions on security, fuel logistics and comprehensive support for special military operation participants and their families.
