MAKHACHKALA, November 2 – RIA Dagestan. The 11th International educational campaign "Big Ethnographic Dictation" timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, will take place in Dagestan on November 3 - 12. The campaign brings together people of all ages and professions, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the history, culture and traditions of the country's diverse peoples while promoting interethnic harmony.

Anyone can participate, regardless of age, education or citizenship. Participants will have 45 minutes to answer 30 federal-level questions. The test can be taken both in Russia and abroad, with a maximum possible score of 100 points.

The dictation was first held in 2016 on the initiative of the Ministry for National Policy of Udmurt Republic and the active youth of Udmurtia. The goal of the campaign is to assess ethnographic literacy and knowledge about the peoples of Russia, draw attention to the quality of ethnocultural education and develop effective tools for maintaining interethnic peace and harmony. In 2025, the campaign was attended by 325,204 people from 89 Russian regions and 178 foreign countries.

"The 'Big Ethnographic Dictation' is not an exam or a formal test of knowledge. It is an opportunity to discover the diversity of our country, realize the scale of its historical journey, and understand that it is precisely the respect for the traditions and culture of every people that forms the solid foundation of our civic unity. I am confident that for each of you, participating in the dictation will be a step toward new knowledge and a reason to be proud of Russia and its unique cultural diversity" Igor Barinov, Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs says.

In Dagestan, the dictation can be taken at the following locations: the Center for Ethnic Culture (Makhachkala), Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University (Makhachkala), the S.
