MAKHACHKALA, October 7 – RIA "Dagestan". The regional Ministry of Education and Science convened the evaluation commission for the Head of Dagestan’s young scientist fellowship program, which received 45 competitive research proposals in the current cycle.
The multidisciplinary committee comprised officials from four ministries—Education, Public Health, Finance, and Economic Development—together with delegates from academic and civic organizations.
Applicants represent the republican leading research entities, with proposals spanning biomedicine, biotechnology, engineering, natural sciences and the humanities.
Assessment metrics prioritize empirical impact, weighing peer-reviewed publications, academic conference participation and applied R&D commercialization efforts. As a strategic human capital investment, the program has supported 138 early-career researchers since 2022, systematically strengthening Dagestan’s scientific infrastructure and regional intellectual capacity.
