MAKHACHKALA, July 10 – RIA "Dagestan". According to the regional Public Health Ministry of Dagestan, AI-assisted medical studies reached 9,639 in the first half of 2026, with the Republican Diagnostic Center acting as the central hub for this technological adoption. The technology currently supports five diagnostic areas: brain and chest CTs, fluorography, mammography, and electronic medical record analysis. To maintain high standards, all potential abnormalities detected by AI on CT scans undergo mandatory confirmation by a physician.
The system also processes electronic records to flag disease risks, ensuring patients receive timely care. This effort is part of the national project "Long and Active Life" and relies on a unified digital ecosystem connecting rural, district, and republican-level facilities. Ultimately, the integration of AI accelerates data handling and boosts the objectivity of medical diagnostics throughout the region.
