Comics about heroes of Special Military Operation to be created in Dagestan

An innovative artistic initiative entitled "Living Pencil" is underway in Dagestan to commemorate the courageous participants of the Special Military Operation. A team of accomplished young artists develop a series of comic books under the banner of "Military Comics".

This project aims to chronicle the narratives of servicemen, capturing their distinct personalities, professional attributes, pivotal moments in their military careers, accomplishments and acts of valor. The initiative received endorsement fr om the regional governor Sergei Melikov, following a personal appeal from Gamid Alibekov, the project's originator.

All created works will be animated and presented at a grand exhibition in Makhachkala. This event will welcome distinguished guests and relatives of participants in the Special Military Operation. Attendees will have an opportunity to view the comics and interact directly with their creators.

To ensure the utmost accuracy and depth in depicting the characters' stories, the artists conduct meetings with the servicemen and their families. For instance, they have already engaged in conversations with Aida Primova, the mother of Ruslan Primov, who was awarded two Orders of Courage in 2022 for his heroic actions during the shelling of Derevetskaya village, wh ere he saved an entire family.

The "Living Pencil" collective has previously successfully orchestrated a series of prominent sports-themed exhibitions that attracted thousands of visitors from Makhachkala. Currently, the artists are focused on preparing a new exhibition dedicated to the heroes of World War II, aspiring to achieve comparable levels of success.
