MAKHACHKALA, August 14 – RIA "Dagestan". A new social project aimed at career guidance, social adaptation and computer literacy training for children and teenagers who find themselves in difficult life situations will be implemented in Dagestan. The Ministry for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan acts as an organizer of this initiative.
The project will involve no less than 50 young people aged 12 – 17 including adolescents repatriated from Middle Eastern conflict zones, children of former members of illegal armed groups and minors registered with prevention authorities.
The program of the educational course has been developed taking into account the age characteristics and basic level of the students' preparation. The training includes the study of the principles of working with a personal computer and basic office programs, the rules of cybersecurity and the protection of personal data on the Internet, media literacy skills and critical perception of information to counter destructive influence in the digital environment.
The project will commence with entrance assessments to evaluate each participant's baseline skills and needs. Based on these results, children will be organized into small groups of no more than five to facilitate personalized instruction. Practical sessions are scheduled to run for two to three hours, allowing instructors to tailor their teaching approach effectively.
An essential element of the initiative is computer-based career testing that helps experts to determine each teenager’s suitability for specialties within IT or associated industries. Graduates will be presented with individualized certificates and meaningful gifts upon finishing the educational program. As noted by the Ministry, the project’s primary mission encompasses both delivering applied digital skills and creating an environment conducive to healthy socialization, protection from radicalization and full civic inclusion.
