MAKHACHKALA, June 30 – RIA "Dagestan". The Russian Union of Travel Industry has identified Dagestan, Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, St. Petersburg, Mineralny Vody, Moscow, Moscow Region and Kaliningrad as the leading regions for summer 2026 tour bookings.
Concurrently, there is a noticeable shift in traveler preferences toward combined, event and gastronomic tourism. Tour operators point out that vacationers are moving away from purely beach-focused trips in favor of comprehensive experiences that include the sea, cultural excursions, nature and regional gastronomy.
As a result of this broad appeal, Dagestan has claimed a place in Intourist's top 10 destinations, alongside Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad, Tatarstan, Stavropol Krai, Karelia and Altai. In the realm of excursion tours, the most highly demanded routes feature St. Petersburg, the Kaliningrad Region, the Golden Ring, Baikal, the Northern Caucasus and the Altai Mountains.
