MAKHACHKALA, June 24 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan has taken third place among Russia's popular wine regions for renting country houses. According to the Avito Travel service, Krasnodar Krai remains the leader, Crimea is in second place and Dagestan rounds out the top three.
Apartments are most in demand in the same regions with Stavropol Krai coming third in this segment. The study notes that travelers have begun to choose countryside options more frequently: the number of house and cottage bookings in wine regions has grown by 7% over the year. Accommodation is booked in advance — apartments on average 58 days before the trip, country houses — 77 days. The most planning time is spent in Crimea, while trips to North Ossetia turned out to be the most spontaneous.
Daily apartment rents in wine regions average RUB 4,100 and RUB 9,200 for country houses. In Dagestan, an apartment costs RUB 3,500 a night and RUB 8,200 for a country house, which ranks among the most economical in wine-producing areas.
Travelers typically spend five days touring wine regions in summer, with the longest stays in Crimea and Krasnodar Krai, whereas trips to Volgograd, Rostov, and North Ossetia are usually planned for three days. According to Raul Salakhov, Head of Development for Landlord Services at Avito Travel, wine regions are evolving into major tourist destinations and the growing popularity of country houses reflects travelers’ appreciation for quiet surroundings and the opportunity to relax in nature far from urban centres.
