MAKHACHKALA, October 27 – RIA "Dagestan". Acting Prime Minister of Dagestan Magomed Ramazanov has authorized the allocation of RUB 15 million to create a comprehensive digital library of texts and audio recordings in the republic's indigenous languages, incorporating advanced digital technologies.
The corresponding executive decree, published on the official cabinet website, directs the transfer of funds to the Ministry for Digital Development, Information and Mass Media of the Republic of Dagestan.
Specialized working groups for the development of linguistic corpora of Dagestan national languages have been established under the A.A. Takho-Godi Dagestan Research Institute of Pedagogy.
Currently, a pilot version of the technical platform has been successfully developed. The project scope includes the translation of 50,000 parallel sentence pairs across six languages—Avar, Dargin, Kumyk, Lezgin, Lak and Tabasaran—alongside professional audio recording of informational content and the development of infrastructure to expand the language model. Upon completion of this phase, the Ministry will initiate the linguistic localization of the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services.
