MAKHACHKALA, July 8 – RIA "Dagestan". Magomed Ramazanov, the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, presided over a festive gathering at the House of Friendship in honor of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the critical role of the family in building a strong society. He offered immense gratitude to large families, praising them as the true custodians of the cultural heritage. Ramazanov noted that the holiday served as a reminder of core societal values, adding that the attendees' life paths commanded deep, nationwide respect. He pointed out that large families clearly manifested the traditional values Dagestan was famous for, such as respect for elders, care for the younger generation, industriousness, mutual assistance and the unity of generations.
The event brought together couples who had been married for 30 years or more, creating a festive atmosphere that also allowed representatives of various generations to exchange valuable life experiences.
As part of the proceedings, a state awards ceremony was conducted to honor 14 Dagestani families with the "For Love and Fidelity" medal. The distinguished group included parents from large families, long-married spouses and relatives of special military operation participants.
The medal has been awarded since 2009 to couples who live at least 25 years together and raise worthy children. Over the years, the honor had been presented to a total of 1,043 families in Dagestan.
