The Republic of Dagestan remains the leader in the number of insurance claims for road accidents in 2023. According to the Russian Union of Automobile Insurers (RUA), Dagestan has a claims frequency of 9.3%, which is significantly higher than the country's average (4.5%). This means that almost one in ten insured cars in Dagestan is involved in a road accident.
This is not the first time that Dagestan has topped this ranking - it did so in 2022. The second region by the frequency of insurance cases was Ingushetia (8%), the third - Chechnya (7.4%). Another 16 regions of the country have higher rates of CMTPL insurance claims, with rates ranging from 5.1 to 4.6%.
