MAKHACHKALA, March 11 – RIA "Dagestan". Zohrab Akhundov, a native of Derbent, Dagestan, has been appointed Executive Director at the headquarters of Sberbank of Russia. In this role, he will oversee the end-to-end implementation and operation of artificial intelligence models and agents across all bank divisions.
A graduate of Derbent School No. 19 and the National Research Nuclear University, Akhundov began his career at the Scientific Research Institute for System Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences, later working in the marketing and product department at Megafon. Since November 2023, he has led AI transformation initiatives within Sberbank's "Sales Network" division and subsequently headed the AI transformation headquarters for one of the bank's largest business units. Under his leadership, his team secured first place in Sberbank's corporate AI development ranking for both 2024 and 2025.
