DERBENT, February 17 – RIA “Dagestan”. According to the online booking service TVIL.RU, accommodation reservations in Derbent have increased by 56% compared to the previous year. This growth places the city among the top 10 Russian destinations experiencing the highest increase in tourist interest.
The trend reflects rising domestic interest in Dagestan historical and cultural heritage. Derbent offers a unique combination of ancient landmarks—including its Old City and defensive fortifications, both inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List—along with beach recreation on the Caspian Sea coast, appealing to a wide range of travelers.
