MAKHACHKALA, August 11 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan State Technical University Rector Nazim Balamirzoev briefed Head of the Republic Fyodor Shchukin on advancements at the university’s military training center launched in 2024.
This distinctive program enrolls 200 students who balance full-time academics with rigorous military instruction backed by federal ministries. Separate facilities feature equipped classrooms and spaces honoring Heroes of Russia to foster both technical and patriotic development. Instructors guide cadets through weapons training, tactical drills, laser tag scenarios and drone piloting modules.
Students further engage in civic duties by participating in regional events and interacting with Special Military Operation veterans and hero families.
Shchukin commended the center’s organizational standards and accepted an invitation to personally inspect the facility and interact with cadets. The upcoming September graduation will feature 100 participants, including sergeants and reserve privates with potential future expansion to officer training.
