MAKHACHKALA, May 7 – RIA "Dagestan." A team of Dagestan State University has advanced to the in-person finals of the Russian Cup in Sports Programming in the discipline "Programming of Information Security Systems". The qualifying stage, held remotely on April 18–19, brought together more than 200 participants from 25 Russian regions, with contestants tasked to solve challenges related to vulnerability analysis and information system protection.
DSU team comprised seven students: six master's students in "Information Systems and Technologies" (Elmira Umarsaidova, Abdurakhman Patakhov, Marat Omarov, Malika Abdusamadova, Samir Dzhalalaev and Takai Takaev) and first-year Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences student Rasul Patakhov. The students noted that the competition demanded maximum concentration from the very first minutes.
As to Zaur Ismikhanov, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies, DSU’s reaching the finals reflects the team's systematic preparation and serious commitment to cybersecurity—a strategic direction for the digital economy. The final stages of the Russian Cup will take place in May.
