MAKHACHKALA, April 10 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov met with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev to discuss the operation of Makhachev's newly registered charitable foundation.
The Islam Makhachev Foundation is now officially registered in Dagestan and plans to work with UAE-based charities on several fronts, strictly following Russian law. The foundation will focus on sports and education in the republic, with special attention to children with developmental disabilities—creating inclusive, adapted sports opportunities suited to their physical and mental needs.
Melikov backed the initiative and thanked Makhachev for his compassion and dedication to society.
