MAKHACHKALA, June 2 – RIA Dagestan. Maternity Hospital No. 2 in Makhachkala has been granted the status of City Perinatal Center. This milestone was made possible by the opening of a new department for newborn pathology, equipped with 15 beds and all necessary modern medical equipment. Additionally, the newborn resuscitation department has been expanded to accommodate 8 beds.
Symbolically, the opening of the new department took place on the eve of International Children's Day, underscoring its critical role in safeguarding the lives and health of infants from the very first moments of their birth.
Further phased strengthening of the Perinatal Center is planned under the "Family" national project which will enable the acquisition of new equipment and the implementation of advanced technical solutions.
As to Yaroslav Glazov, Acting Public Health Minister of the Republic of Dagestan, the Ministry continuously monitors efforts to protect infants, starting from pregnancy management and the prevention of reproductive health issues.
