MAKHACHKALA, September 21 – RIA "Dagestan". Leading clinicians from Dagestan and radiologists from Saint Petersburg gathered in Makhachkala for "The Breast: The Code of Women's Health", a seminar organized by the "Healthy Caucasus" movement to refine breast cancer diagnostics and treatment.
Driven by alarming statistics showing breast cancer as the leading female malignancy worldwide and comprising over a fifth of such cases in Russia, the experts focused on creating a unified interdisciplinary standard for patient management.
The seminar's curriculum spanned the entire clinical pathway, featuring specialized presentations on 3D tomosynthesis and the BI-RADS system by Aishat Karaeva, alongside discussions on metabolic and hormonal triggers by Umizhat Rokhoeva. Ultimately, the introduction of these evidence-based protocols is expected to bolster the technological self-sufficiency of the republican healthcare sector and deliver advanced, on-site care to local patients.
