GUMBETOVSKY DISTRICT, July 13 – RIA "Dagestan". A fully renovated medical outpatient clinic has opened in the high-mountain village of Mekhelta, Gumbetovsky District, following extensive reconstruction that significantly improves healthcare access for nearly 4,000 residents living at 1,500 meters above sea level.
According to the republican Public Health Ministry, the facility was previously housed in a dilapidated building requiring urgent overhaul. The modernized clinic offers comfortable conditions for staff and patients alike, featuring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Locals can now receive primary care, preventive exams, vaccinations, and lab tests on-site without traveling to district or republican centers. This upgrade was implemented under the national project "Long and Active Life", specifically its program for modernizing primary healthcare infrastructure.
