Three Dagestanis to Compete in "Abilympics–2026"

MAKHACHKALA, October 20 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan sends three of its most talented young professionals to Moscow for the Abilympics–2026 National Championship, Russia’s premier skills competition for people with disabilities, running from October 31 to November 3.

According to the republican Ministry of Education and Science, the delegation features Albina Isaeva, a student at Medzhidov Professional Pedagogical College and Raziyat Khalidova—both competing in Decorative Arts—alongside Iliana Gasanbegova, a graduate of the Special Boarding School Type II, who will showcase her abilities in Sign Art. Isaeva will contest the students’ division, while Khalidova and Gasanbegova face off in the Specialists category.

The Abilympics movement has grown dramatically since launching in Russia in 2015, drawing more than 180,000 competitors and 110,000 experts through regional rounds. Beyond the medals, the championship’s mission is practical: to guide participants toward vocational training, open doors to real employment and help people with disabilities become fully integrated members of society. The event runs under the federal "Professionalitet" project, part of the national "Youth and Children" initiative.
