Petr Yan, UFC Bantamweight Champion, has arrived in Dagestan with a humanitarian mission: to visit territories affected by recent natural disasters and provide assistance to residents of the republic. The titled fighter's visit underscores the growing wave of support from prominent Russian athletes for communities impacted by the floods.
Upon his arrival at Makhachkala Airport, Yan was welcomed by Gaidarbek Gaidarbekov, Deputy Minister of Sport of the Republic of Dagestan and Olympic champion. This meeting underscored the collaborative efforts between sports figures and regional authorities in addressing the consequences of the emergency.
Yan emphasized the importance of solidarity during challenging times, stating: "People care about what is happening in Dagestan. Everyone helps as they can. When we are united, we are invincible".
