A solemn awards ceremony for the winners of the patriotic contest “My Ancestor Is a Hero” took place in Moscow, celebrating young participants who paid heartfelt tribute to their forebears’ valor in defending the Motherland.
First place was awarded to Magomed Mayranov, a participant in the special military operation, for his moving video dedicated to his grandfather—a World War II veteran who fought bravely fr om the early days of the war all the way to Berlin.
Aysylu Dyavlyatbaeva received second place for her compelling submission commemorating her two great-grandfathers, both of whom served as heroic defenders of the native land.
Third place went to Alim Bidzhiev, who presented the inspiring story of his ancestor—Soltan-Khamid Bidzhiev, a decorated Soviet pilot and Hero of Russia.
The diplomas were presented by Alexey Petrov, Deputy Director of the Foundation for Coordination of Regional Projects and Interaction with State Agencies. Following the ceremony, the laureates visited the “Road of Memory” museum complex, wh ere they explored a deeply immersive exhibition that chronicles the Great Patriotic War day by day—honoring the courage and sacrifice of millions.
The Fund for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education extends its heartfelt congratulations to the winners and sincere gratitude to all participants for their vital role in preserving historical memory, fostering patriotic values, and strengthening intergenerational ties through the legacy of heroism.
