Kamil Kurugliev, representing Kazakhstan, won a silver medal in the Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championship for junior athletes aged 21 and under. The event was held in Bishkek. In the 97 kilogram weight class, Kurugliev defeated wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan, China and Japan, but lost to an Iranian opponent in the final. Despite this setback, his performance earned him a valuable silver medal for Kazakhstan's national team.
