KASPIYSK, April 2 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan's weightlifting team finished second in the overall team standings at the Russian Youth Championship for boys aged 13–17, held in Kaspiysk.
Kemerovo Region took first place, while Krasnodar Krai claimed third. Three members of the Dagestani squad emerged as tournament champions: Ahmad Batiev (49 kg), Abdullakh Elmurzaev (81 kg) and Beibulat Nazirov (73 kg). Nazirov also set a new Russian record in the clean and jerk for boys under 15.
