CHICAGO, August 16 – RIA Dagestan. UFC Champion Islam Makhachev successfully defended his welterweight title against Ireland's Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in Philadelphia.
This was Makhachev's second bout in the welterweight division, having moved up to the weight class last year. In his debut at the new weight in November 2025, the Russian fighter defeated Australia's Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision to capture the championship belt.
Makhachev's UFC winning streak now stands at 17 fights. He has set a new all-time record for the organization, surpassing Brazil's Anderson Silva for the most consecutive victories.
