MAKHACHKALA, March 26 – RIA Dagestan. UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev is scheduled to hold his next fight in August, according to an announcement by UFC President Dana White, the Red Corner MMA portal reports.
Previously, the athlete's manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, had indicated that the bout could take place in July; however, White subsequently clarified the timeline: "That is not correct. It will be August".
The 34-year-old Makhachev holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 28 wins and one loss. In 2025, he became the first Russian fighter to secure UFC championship titles in two weight divisions. Prior to moving up to the welterweight category, he successfully defended his lightweight title on four occasions.
