MAKHACHKALA, July 2 – RIA "Dagestan". On July 11 in Moscow, Dagestani boxing star Muslim Gadzhimagomedov will step into the ring at the "WINLINE. IBA.PRO 19" event. The three-time world champion and Tokyo Olympics silver medalist is scheduled for a 10-round cruiserweight rating fight against Mexico's Kevin Martinez (14-1, 10 KOs). Gadzhimagomedov enters the bout with a professional record of 6 wins, including 3 knockouts.
Prior to this, the Russian boxer was slated to defend his WBA bridgerweight belt against Cuban dual Olympic champion and five-time world titleholder Julio César La Cruz. Unfortunately, that matchup was scrapped after the WBA decided to abolish the bridgerweight class.
Martinez, Dagestani boxer's opponent, is rated among Mexico's strongest heavyweights. He challenged for the IBO title in 2024 and took on 2025 world champion David Surov in Kaliningrad this May as part of a dual-nation match. The July 11 event will be broadcast live on Channel One, with coverage starting at 9:35 PM Moscow time.
