MAKHACHKALA, April 20 – RIA Dagestan. Two-time Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev will captain the Russian freestyle wrestling team at the European Championship, scheduled for April 24–26 in Tirana, Albania.
Sadulaev, the most decorated athlete in the squad, will be joined by fellow Dagestani wrestlers Musa Mekhtikhanov (57 kg), Zaur Uguev (61 kg), Bashir Magomedov (65 kg), Akhmed Usmanov (79 kg), Ibragim Kadiev (86 kg), Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov (92 kg) and Shamil Musaev (125 kg). Russia will also field David Baev (70 kg) and Timur Bizhoev (74 kg) in two additional weight categories.
The strong lineup reflects Dagestan's ongoing dominance in Russian freestyle wrestling and underscores the republic's crucial role in developing athletes for top-level international competitions. With Sadulaev at the helm and a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars, the Russian team aims for outstanding results at the continental championship in Tirana.
