SOCHI, May 31 – RIA Dagestan. Six Dagestani weightlifters—Beibulat Nazirov, Abdullakh Elmurzaev, Rasul Shiraev, Sharaputdin Iziev, Yusuf Sultanakhmedov and Izamutdin Abdulaev—get prepared as part of the Russian national team for the European Championship, scheduled for the second half of August in Kosovo.
Coach Rasul Temirbekov leads the athletes through training session in Sochi. "The Russian national team has never seen such a large contingent from Dagestan before" Temirbekov noted. "This is a well-deserved recognition: each of our athletes truly won the right to demonstrate one’s potential at the European Championship".
Omar Nazirov, Vice President of the regional Weightlifting Federation and senior coach of Dagestan U-23 national team, works with the athletes at the training camp. "I will join them at the final training camp in Chekhov" Nazirov stated. "We are taking a serious approach to our performance on the European stage, so every step has been carefully planned. We have a whole summer ahead—there is still time to give our all!"
