In 2024, Dagestan made significant strides in the realm of agriculture, particularly in terms of boosting the production of both vegetables and potatoes. As to Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the chairman of the regional government, the region achieved a remarkable harvest of approximately 1.5 million tons of vegetables and a substantial 365 thousand tons of potatoes.

These figures clearly demonstrate the progress made towards the specific targets set by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, which have been successfully achieved through the combined efforts of local farmers.

When compared to the previous year, 2023, during which the region produced 1.3 million tons of vegetables and approximately 356 thousand tons of potatoes, there has been a notable increase in production. Among the various types of vegetables, cabbage plays a pivotal role, with its annual harvest amounting to approximately 700 thousand tons.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted a positive trend in the production of fruit crops, which has seen an increase from 220 thousand tons in 2023 to 231 thousand tons in the current year.
