The Sumen Kurbanov Agricultural Production Cooperative (APC) in Akushinsky District of Dagestan is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the region. In 2025, the farm intends to harvest a record yield of alfalfa and other forage crops.

To achieve this goal, the farmers have acquired a 450-meter circular irrigation system from Saudi Arabia. This system features rotating sprinklers that provide extensive coverage, significantly reducing irrigation time. According to the farm's manager, the cooperative currently manages over 600 hectares of land, but there is a lack of forage due to the hot climate that causes grass to burn out by mid-summer.

The farm has recently completed the construction of a reservoir with a capacity of 27,000 cubic meters. It will be filled through a 5-kilometer pipeline connected to Lake Uytash. The irrigation equipment is expected to begin operation within the next month. According to the estimates of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the overall cost of the project amounts to approximately RUB 45 million. Of this sum, half can be recouped through subsidies.
