The Government of Dagestan convened a meeting on implementation of the national project for unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The republic has approved a UAS development program until 2030 and established a research and production center. The goal is to create a full-cycle unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production chain in the region, from development to serial manufacturing.
The managing company for the "Caspiy" research and production center has been designated as an autonomous non-profit institution. The "Caspiy" center will focus on production, infrastructure development, personnel training and scientific research. Funding for creating a regional testing and competency center is planned for 2026.
A key objective is to attract talented youth to the industry, including participants of the special military operation. Agreements have already been signed with seven resident technology companies that will establish production facilities at the center. To provide personnel for the sector, a UAV operator training program has been launched in Dagestani colleges. This comprehensive approach aims to build a sustainable high-tech industry in the region.
