14 Ukrainian refugees employed in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, August 22, 2014. 14 IDPs from Ukraine were employed today in Makhachkala, head of the department of statistics and of labour market analysis of the Makhachkala employment center Zaypula Osmanov told RIA "Dagestan".

"To date, nurses, a maid and a gardener have been employed at the "Dolphin" recreation center sheltering the refugees in Makhachkala, a mechanic found a job in the "Trolleybus depot administration" municipal company, a worker was employed by the "Water canal" state-owned enterprise, a nurse now works at the "Daghestan orthopedic center", a carpenter – in a republican policlinics, a few nurses – in the "Yarinsky" agricultural cooperative, etc. Blue-collar occupations remain the most demanded – 85%," said the source.

The Makhachkala employment center in company with officials from the ministry of labour and social development visited the temporary accommodation points sheltering forced migrants from Ukraine in the "Dolphin" recreation center and "Lezzet" resort to render consultations; they also consulted people living with their friends and relatives.

Officials filled in personal cards or each person to have the general information about people and their occupations. They set employment center’s stands in the temporary accommodation facilities giving information on open jobs and other regularly updated information. 176 Ukraine’s citizens were consulted or employed, 15 of them – through a "hot line". The centre also initiated and held 3 mini job fairs providing 664 vacancies in 75 companies in Makhachkala, and a few vacancies in other Russian regions.
