The Golden Pen of Dagestan Award is annually bestowed upon journalists for outstanding achievements in their professional field, long-term contribution to the regional media, as well as civic standing and influence among colleagues.

The Golden Pen is organized by Dagestan Regional Branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia and aims to recognize and honor journalists who have made significant contribution to the media landscape of Dagestan.

Each year, four journalists from various media outlets, including print, electronic, television and radio are nominated for this prestigious award. The jury, composed of members from the executive committee of Dagestan Union of Journalists, selects the winners based on their outstanding work and contribution. Winners receive a diploma, statuette and a monetary prize. The ceremony takes place annually in January, prior to the Russian Press Day.
