The most prevalent activities among the self-employed in Dagestan include household and beauty services, personal transportation, construction and repairs, trading in hand-made products and IT services, the regional branch of the Federal Tax Service reports.

Apart from to the traditional sectors, a number of self-employed gets engaged in consulting, public speaking and personal training. According to data from the first quarter of 2025, the self-employed residents of the republic contributed approximately RUB 157 million to the budget in taxes, surpassing the initial target of RUB 136 million.
