Aidan Gafurov, a young grandmaster and trainee of Kaspiysk Chess School, has achieved a remarkable victory in the Russian Classic Chess Championship for players under the age of 9. Throughout the nine rounds of the competition, Aidan remained undefeated, amassing an impressive eight points and outplaying his rivals from Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow.

This triumph was not the sole achievement of Dagestan at the tournament. The regional team also won a historic bronze medal in the team event, securing third place out of a field of 89 teams. This is the highest honor ever achieved by Dagestan in such competitions.
