Kamal Khan-Magomedov, a native of Derbent, will lead the Bahraini national judo team. Khan-Magomedov's started coaching shortly after he retired from his own illustrious career as an athlete. In 2023 he made a significant impact as head coach of the Russian women's judo team.

Throughout his athletic career, he achieved remarkable success, having emerged as a victor in the European Games and securing the title of world champion in team events.
